Meet “Damian”: a cartoon character with a strong personality
Damian has somehow become part of the family over the years—minus the laundry and the loud chewing. It’s hilarious how a random doodle can slowly evolve into a full-blown character with opinions, moods, and way too much screen time. It all started a couple of years ago with a couple of cartoons drawn on paper, just for fun. But before I knew it, Damian was popping up everywhere—on napkins, notebooks, and even in conversations, as if he’d always been around. Watching him evolve has been like raising a very flat, ink-based child.
Learn MoreDrawing cartoons for and about business
Cartoon characters aren’t just for comic strips—they’re a fun and powerful way to bring personality to mission statements, business cards, culture walls, and websites. Whether you're looking to add a friendly face to your brand or just want to make your message a little more memorable, a custom character can do the trick. They grab attention, tell a story, and add just the right dose of charm (without ever asking for a coffee break).
Check out a selection of cartoons I have drawn over the years and see how a few well-placed lines and expressions can liven up even the most serious content.
Cartoon advent calender
It might be a very “European” thing, but I have to admit—I absolutely love advent calendars. Not the chocolate ones (though those have their charm), but the creative kind. The ones where you pick a new card each day from a set of 24, not knowing what little surprise awaits you. It’s such a simple thing, but somehow it never fails to bring a smile to your face every morning. There’s a special kind of joy in starting the day with a tiny dose of whimsy, curiosity, or unexpected delight—like a daily high-five from your inner child.
Learn moreThe Low Carb Veggie Challenge
My very first book was a vegetarian cookbook—with a twist. Focused on low-carb recipes and brought to life with playful “Damian” cartoons, it combined tasty food with a good dose of humor. It started as a passion project and turned into a small-edition prototype, just to see where the journey might lead.
Blending cooking and cartooning felt like the perfect mix of two of my favorite things—and Damian, of course, insisted on being the star of the show. It wasn’t a big release, but it was a meaningful first step into the world of bookmaking—and a delicious one at that.
